The National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) has officially announced that the pandemic-induced recession has ended. According to the NBER, the recession which began in February 2020 officially ended just two months later in April 2020, making it the shortest U.S. recession on record. This announcement is in-line with leading economic data –such as the Leading Economic Index from the Conference Board– which also bottomed last April.
